I had to get some breakfast items for my team at 6AM, I can easily get it at say Shipley Donuts, but I prefer local business. I got here at 6:30 AM and got a box full of different bagels and two toppings for about $20. They tastes great and everyone in the office loved it. I'm not a big fan of the $2 for the box policy(update: they put the dozen in paper bag now, so no $2 box fee), but it isn't a deal breaker for me. I will visit again.

These bagels are delicious, warm and flavorful. I am a big fan of supporting small businesses and I love to see the actual owners working and socializing with the customers. The staff were friendly and courteous. I had the cranberry-orange bagel with their seasonal pumpkin cream cheese. Absolutely delicious. They have a wide selection of bagels and spreads to choose from. The prices are reasonable. I paid about $2.00 for my bagel. The menu also includes sandwiches, pizza bagels and an array of coffees.

I have been looking for a bagel place since I've moved to San antonio. This is the place. I shall look no more. Their hours close early but it's ok it's so worth it. I finally got my bagel craving out of my system and this is the only place I'll go. Thank you for having a coupon in the book of free or else I would of never visited this place. They also offer a military discount on your purchase. Free WiFi. Small shop great service awesome bagels 1 star for facilities 1 star for food 1 star for service 1 star for overall experience Did not visit the restrooms so I could not grade the restrooms that made it 4 stars.

I was so excited when I found Bagel Factory. They satisfied my craving for a bagel sandwich. I've been enjoying BF for months only to come in today to discover that no longer do sandwiches... now they just have bagels and cream cheese... that's it. So long Bagel Factory.

I have been searching for a good bagel shop, and there aren't many to speak of in the area. This one happens to be closest to my house and I LOVE it!! My daughter and I stop here once a week for our bagels now. Fresh and delicious, friendly customer service, and they offer a military discount which is always a plus for us. Give this place a try and you won't be disappointed!

Fresh made bagels. And sadly, today is the last day for sandwiches, which were great when I purchased it. The coffee is Louisiana's Own Community coffee which is what I grew up on and enjoy. Great staff, comfortable atmosphere, and great Wi-Fi.

All the things. Please. I've been on the lookout for a bagel place since we moved here. A locally own joint with a proper everything bagel. This place won! I also really love the variety of cream cheese options. I could never break up with veggie, but my husband says that Serrano is also very good. This place has great customer service & offers a military discount. It's not close to us at all, but is worth the drive. I woke up hungover at 11 on a Sunday and drove the 40 minutes round trip from Alamo Ranch to Bagel Factory so I could supply my husband with his fav when he was up. The free check in drink & great service really helped elevate my mood. Hub got his coveted Jalapeño Cheddar with Raspberry Chipotle spread. I tried the Spinach spread on my required everything bagel & it was amazing. Don't worry BF, I'll never break up with you. Just stay the same please.

Closest to real bagels around 281! I drive north up 281 for work but dealing with looping around is well worth it! Wish they had a shop near the Quarry!

I am going to update my review to 5 stars! Since I am now there ALL THE TIME I have realized that you can get the cream cheese on the side so you can control your portion! Very helpful! And I have fallen in love with The Supervisor on the Everything bagel. The Supervisor an egg, cheese and meat sandwhich on a bage. I get ham! And I am a bacon person....but their ham is so good! You can choose from ham, bacon, chorizo or sausage. I have tried them all and of course recommend the ham! And they are now serving fresh bread! The coffee is still just okay though - you come for the bagel!

Pretty sure I absolutely love this place. Amazed at the great prices and fast service. We were on orders here with the Army and came in for breakfast. They offered a 20% military discount. Wow! I definitely love Texas haha. I got the Supervisor on an everything bagel with bacon. It was kinda awesome. I wanna try the same thing but with sausage next time. Their bagels were delicious and they put a good amount of cheese on it too. I definitely plan on coming back to this place.

Food is always excellent. Most of the staff is very friendly, but its always disheartening to see staff members bicker where customers can see, and get visibly frustrated with their team mates. Keep the drama behind closed doors.

Great bagel shop with a whole lot more. The staff turned me on to the cheesy grits with chorizo added. OMG. Great staff and a neat little business.

The only authentic bagel cafe in San Antonio. Great friendly service and cool business story. Military discount. Highly recommend you give them a try. I'll definitely be coming back. Would have been 5 stars if they had a bialy.

Great selection, but get here a bit early. Owner served us and was very sweet and helpful. Good coffee, tasty bagel sandwiches, and quick service. There are precious few bagel-dedicated establishments north of Bitters, so The Bagel Factory is needed. We come here occasionally and stock up, which is my advice on how to do it. Overall, fair price and good quality will keep me as a customer.

I really like the variety and freshness of the bagels and kolaches. I recommend this place because it's a local breakfast restaurant and the flavors are delicious. I also like the different cream cheeses they have, such as spinach and artichoke. The prices are reasonable also, about $20 a dozen. I think that is pretty standard compared to the big chain restaurants.

After spending a decade in NYC I've been on the hunt for a good bagel. I'm resigned to the fact that the only place to get an NYC bagel is in the city-no place else. This place is the closest you are going to get in San Antonio. The bagels are flavorful, have a nice crust on the outside & chewy inside. They are not plump, but rather flat. I had a breakfast sandwich & was very disappointed with the "stuffing". The egg is microwaved, powdered, and preformed- they don't have a griddle. My advice is to take home the bagels & make your own eggs with choice if meat/cheese. I took home the chive cream cheese and LOVED it.

Bagel Factory has dropped Bagel's and Lox... AKA for Bagel with Cream Cheese and a Filet of Smoked Salmon. I was told by the clerk that Bagel Factory cannot be bothered making sandwiches anymore. They have other clients which keep them busier. My wife and I drove out of our way for this little bagel shop. It was a stand alone. We will now go to a chain which is closer to our home. Boo. They don't care.

Nothing extraordinary about this place. I actually found it quite ridiculous to have to pay $19 for two bagels. For $19 I could've bought a whole array of bagels and supplies to make a better bagel. It's worth trying out maybe once, check out the different selections and varieties but be prepared to pay.

Pretty neat little place to visit. Bacon, egg, & cheese on an everything bagel. Toasted honey wheat w/ plain cream cheese Blueberry & cinnamon raison bagels for the babies. Coffee & orange juice... A great alternative to fast food.

WOOOOW!! "The Everything Bagel" with cream cheese.... Dear god! Quite possibly the BEST bagel I have ever had. Looking forward to going back to this place to try other bagels AND I think I saw a sign about chicken salad so I need to come back here for lunch and try that too. I cannot recommend enough for the bagels though. FYI... Easy to miss this place. Right off 281 South... Behind a Taco Cabana.

Boo! Boo! Boo on Bagel Factory :( The Welder, The Ranchero, The Supervisor, The Fisherman.... These are the names of the AMAZING thick meaty, cheesy bagel sandwiches The Bagel Factory USED to sell. Yes, along with incredible loaded egg/bacon/cheese/sausage breakfast sandwiches, pizza bagels, and many more yummy bagel extras! My family came here on a regular basis. It was our favorite breakfast stop on the way to school and one of our favorite lunch stops too (see my previous post). Today, as we stopped on the way to school (prepared to order breakfast sandwiches) there was a large sign on the front door stating they are "now distributing their bagels to numerous HEB stores and decided to remove all the menu items except for... Can you guess? bagels! And, cream cheese of course (muffins too)". When I told the cashier how disappointed we were, she definitely had an attitude and stated, "we need to stick to what WE do best." As I was filling my soda, I noticed two older gentleman sitting at a table griping about this as well. Funny, one of them had a coffee cup that said, "BOB, 1st CUSTOMER EVER". Bob's picture was actually on the wall as being the first customer they ever had!! ;) One of the men stood up and came over to me and asked me how I felt about the situation. I told him I was not happy about it and would probably not be back. He told me that him and "Bob" were thinking about opening another bagel shop next-door. LOL I wish the Bagel Factory well wishes and hope they can survive competing in the HEB stores with other Bagel choices. Heck, maybe they'll be all over before you know it? But... If they take a hard look at their reviews, almost all focused on the great sandwiches. I think the "customer" should be what they do best.

After an unimpressive bagel at another joint I found this little gem and I'm glad I did! The cinnamon sugar bagel is phenomenal. The ambiance is really fun in this place. And has plenty of seating. The cashier could have been a little friendlier. My husband ordered a fountain soda and the machine wasn't working so she told the cashier who told another lady. She said it was because the key wasn't turned on the side of the machine and then told my husband if a machine isn't working its most likely that and to turn the key... Ummm that's not anyone's job except the people that work there so that irritated us, as it was rather unprofessional. There was plenty of parking and the overall strip mall it's in seemed welcoming.

What a cute little bagel place! Nothing like loading up on carbs first thing in the morning to get you through your day. They have a variety of options here, bagel & shmear, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch sandwiches. Lots of different flavored of bagels as well! The wait staff were all so friendly and the owner of the place we our cashier! Not too often you see that anymore. She was so nice and since we are new to the area she welcomed us and really gave us a good start to our day. We both ordered a breakfast sandwich.. Mine with egg cheese and ham, and his had sausage instead of ham. Food came out quick and hot.. They mixed up the sausage and ham but it was a quick switch on our end and we went on our way. This seems like a place we will be visiting frequently!!

I'm fairly certain that I've sampled all of the bagel places in town. This is hands down, bar-none the best place to get a bagel in San Antonio. It is not 100% New York bagel, but it is really close. On my most recent visit, I had a toasted, salt bagel with lox spread, a black and white cookie (which I shared with a friend), and an iced tea (that I got for free with yelp check in). My bill came out to about $4. The bagel was perfectly chewy and dense and toasted just the right amount. The salt added a really great textural contrast, and the lox spread was rich and just fishy enough but not so rich and fishy as to prevent me from devouring the entire melange in mere moments. My friend munched happily on her everything bagel, and despite our need to catch up, neither of us spoke for a few minutes. Our breakfast was that good. The employees at the Bagel Factory are extremely friendly and accommodating. The cashier very graciously grabbed the black and white cookie that I couldn't find. I also noticed they were frequently cleaning up as other patrons would come and go. I have purchased bagels for work and they have a self serve area with bagels, bags and packaged spreads. I will warn you that if you want your bagels in a box and not a bag, there is an up-charge.

I love this place! If you love fresh bagels and flavorful cream cheese options this is you place! I love the ranchero breakfast sandwich on Asiago bagel. I would come here every weekend if I could. Staff is always friendly, prices are fair, and there's free wifi too

One of our favorite bagel shops when we are missing NYC. We are obsessed with the hot stuffed bagel on the everything bagel. The chive cream cheese is so delicious. This place is great for a quick lunch, fast service. Bagels are always fresh. Location is always clean and tidy.

Came in this morning right when they opened at 6am & got the ranchero breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. It was good! The bagel was perfectly fresh and chewy, & you could really taste all the flavors of the toppings (poppyseed, onion, garlic), which you typically can't! The sandwich came with chopped tomato, onion, & bell pepper pieces, egg, & cheddar. Their ranchero salsa is one of the best, if not THE best salsa I have ever tasted! OMG. It had perfect texture, perfect spice level, & such a good flavor!!! I got it on the side so my bagel wouldn't get soggy on the drive home, & I wish they had given me more than a skimpily poured little plastic ramekin. Next time I will need to ask for a straight up bowl of it! I also wish they were more generous with the vegetables- I was expecting hearty slices, but only got a sprinkling of chopped pieces. They also don't have egg whites only. All in all my sandwich was delicious, & the customer service was friendly & helpful as well. I'll be back!

Yum! What a nice surprise! I got "the welder" and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! On an asiago bagel, with roast beef, turkey and bacon and veggies.. It was warm, fresh and just perfect!

We have found our new favorite bagel place. Love, love, love this place! It's a great breakfast place for our little family - which includes an 18 month old - so we come here almost every weekend! My husband gets breakfast sandwiches but I stick to my cinnamon sugar bagel with plain cream cheese and sliced tomato. My staple. And the cinnamon sugar bagel is probably the best I've had. The cinnamon sugar is baked onto the bagel so it doesn't come off all over your hands like the ones we used to get in CA (Noah's - I'm calling you out in particular). Service is always fast too which is again a plus when dealing with a toddler. The owner is also very nice. She has been there a few times when we have visited and she made sure we were taken care of. I am so happy to support this small business and will not give a national bagel chain our business as long as we are near here.

Nice shop, good service, but the bagels were just OK. Just recently visiting my family in Brooklyn and we hoped these might be close to the bagels we loved there. Not the case. If I lived close maybe but not worth the drive across town. Wife and I had sesame bagels with chive cream cheese as the test. These were dense and chewy but no better than a store bought one. Just nothing at all special or worth the drive unless you live close by.

This bagel place just gets 2 stars from me because: 1. Food - Coming from the tri-state area, I know good bagels. I expected a really good bagel, and it was pretty good. However, the inside was really disappointing! We ordered a Supervisor with chorizo and another Supervisor with ham. Not sure if the egg was from powder or fresh eggs based on its appearance, but the texture was fine. The real problem was that they skimped on the cheese and meat. My sister had one small slice of ham, I mostly had what I'd guess is the pan drippings from the chorizo - maybe a TEASPOON at most of meat, and we both had probably a half slice of cheese. Obviously, we were expecting more! 2. Location - easy to access off of 281 South, plenty of parking on a Sunday. 3. Service - efficient and polite.

I often forget to check in at Bagel Factory, and I blame this on the hour of my visit. My priorities then are sustenance and caffeine. While I can't vouch for their coffee - This professionally trained baker can more than vouch for their bagels. This is as close to New York City as it gets while still enjoying the Lone Star State. The selection is consistent and the quality the same. If you want to know what a true bagel tastes like, or you need help remembering, check them out. They also have a frequent-buyer's club, as well as for regulars you can get your own mug with your name on it, and don't miss out on their spreads (my favorite is the chive). Sending a pic of a Bagel Factory bag to the staff before we get there always helps them show up in chipper spirits!

Well, first of all, I hate bagels and almost anything that might be too healthy. But these bagels from the Bagel factory were delicious. My wife and I both got some of the most expensive bagels they had there (about $8 each) But they definitely exceeded my expectations and were worth the price. The food was delicious, we got free drinks for checking in on yelp, and the actual bagel itself was awesome. They use Boars Head meats, which you can definitely taste the difference. It is in a weird little shopping place and can be missed very easily, but I would definitely recommend everyone to try the bagel factory. Although they did mess up our order, it was ok because my wife got half of my bagel and I got half of hers.

Came here this morning for a bagel and a coffee!! I had the cheese bagel with plain cream cheese! Probably the best bagel I've had in a long time!! I would give this place 5 stars just based on the bagel, but o also ordered a coffee and it was loaded with coffee grounds!!! Yuckkk!! Anywho, over all this place is yummy! Will I be back? Yes!!

Tasty bagels, large selection and lots of lunch options on menu. Went simple with a garlic bagel with chive cream cheese, and it was huge, flavorful, and filling. Saw lots if menu options I'd come back for. Service was only okay, though- was greeted when I came in, then the counter girl took a complicated phone order while I waited. Two other employees saw me waiting, but neither stepped up to help me until a good five minutes had passed.

When I moved to San Antonio from Long Island 8 years ago I felt that I had moved to the "bagel desert." Someone told me, "forget bagels, we have breakfast tacos!" There weren't any places to get a real bagel (anyone who thinks that Einstein's Bagels are real bagels has never lived in the New York City area). So when one day a little more than four years ago I found the Bagel Factory, I was astounded and in heaven. When I entered I met the owner, Suzanne Hermann, for the first time. I could talk about her smile and how friendly she and her team are, but let's get back to the bagels. The Bagel Factory looks, smells and feels like a real bagel store (from Long Island like the old Bagel Boss that I frequented). The bagels taste as good as they can taste - and they're great (Tony Tiger impression). Let's get real people, this San Antonio, it isn't NY or Brooklyn - the water is different, the air is different. I'm just hoping that someday as the business gets better and better that there'll be a second Bagel Factory closer to my home so I can run out on a Sunday morning and bring them home (right now I stop in on the way to work when I really need a bagel fix)...I know that's a dream, but it's a nice dream. I do not understand anyone who doesn't give the Bagel Factory FIVE STARS. Stop complaining and enjoy the best bagels in San Antonio. "Get your bagel fix at the Bagel Factory." PS: I've had the Bagel Factory cater breakfast for 3 business functions. Everything was great, the value was great and everyone was impressed.

Not bad. Price is a little high for me, considering what you get. I would have a hard time coming here, say, every morning for breakfast, because it would add up quickly per week. However, I would happily patronize this business again, and every once in awhile, just to support local business rather than the big guys. THE BEST PART IS that when you purchase coffee, it's self-serve so you can get refills (which I of course lingered around to be able to take advantage of.) Friendly staff. The interior is a little sterile, and the seats incredibly uncomfortable. I had the #2 which is a breakfast bagel, egg, your choice of meat, and your choice of bagel. I chose the Asiago which was tasty. They have quite a few choices though, including some sweet bagels and they have a seasonal pumpkin-flavored cream cheese, which intrigued me.

    (3)
  • Gloria L.

The taste of the bagel is good. The size and thickness of the bagel is nothing like a NY bagel. They don't add enough cream cheese, tomatoes and onions. The bagel is over priced. An everything bagel with cream cheese, capers, tomatoes, onions and lox was priced at $10. I was disappointed. Won't be going back . In NY you get a better bagel, side salad (pasta, potato or macaroni etc) and a pickle for the same price. You can find Bagel Factory bagels at HEB for 99 cents. This place is not worth the price nor the drive. Just pick up Everything at HEB - for half the price.

Cons: - Every table was dirty when we walked in. - Young gentleman taking the order was not very welcoming and difficult to hear. - Forgot my coffee order and when I went to ask about it I stood there for a good couple minutes until they acknowledged my existence... Pros: - Wide variety of bagels, cream cheese, and muffins. - Bagel was pretty good and priced right 3/5 because customer service weighs much of my decision but once the owner stepped out onto the floor, the employees seemed a bit more enthusiastic to be there.

The sandwich I had was good. BUT it was in no way $9 good. It was small and dis not even come with chips. The coffee machine was broken also. We had never been here before so we told the peraon at the counter hope for a recommendation or something. The response ok what would you like? I will not be back but if you want a really expensive so-so bagel stop by.

Best bagels in all of SA. They warm them up before they give them to you. Their breakfast sandwiches are good. EVERYTHING. The employees are pretty upbeat too for an early morning. On my long 45 minute drives back home at 6am from my boyfriends house, this is my favorite stop. :)

  • John C.

Grew up in NJ/NY area and get back there quite often so let me start off by saying this is not up there with the best NY bagels. That said, I had an everything bagel and it was surprisingly good. The toppings were generous and tasty so that was defiantly a positive. My only critique was the bagel's exterior was not as crunchy on the outside and chewy at the interior as I like. I think the place is a solid bagel store and far better than most. Worth the trip!

    (4)
  • Patsy K.

The bagels are decent and the toppings are fresh. I want to rate higher but get irritated every time we go here. We've been here 9 times. That alone says the food must be at least ok, right? But, alas, I cannot give them a higher rating because out of the 9 times we've gone SEVEN of them our bagels were wrong! I guess we're the only people this has happened to too though 'cause I don't see any other comments about it and it drives me insane. At this point, I EXPECT the order to be wrong and I think that's unacceptable for an issue that could easily be avoided. We always order 4 bagels: 2 are one flavor an have the same topping on them, and the other 2 are another flavor and have the same topping on them. That's it. We usually get the wrong bagels AND the wrong toppings. The only up side to this I can find is that in each instance they have given us the wrong bagels anyway and also remade our order correctly but the wrong bagels are still wrong. I ordered the way I did for a reason and never eat the wrong ones. They aren't what I wanted to begin with and usually that's the last of a flavor anyway (they never have enough of the popular ones and have tons of the unpopular ones!) so now someone is going to come in wanting a certain kind and not get it because the staff was careless. Maybe this wouldn't bug me as much if the variety of bagels they OFFERED was actually AVAILABLE! :) If they paid better attention, they wouldn't be out of over half the kinds they offer by 9:00 am every week day because they might not be wasting twice as many as they are selling! lol I guess it's just hard to rate better when I'm always disappointed that they are out of bagels, and know it's probably because they just didn't pay attention. The receipts don't specify the kind of bagel, the toppings flavors or even if they are to be toasted or not so the 2 times our order was right...? How did that even happened? But again, remember how I said we've been 9 times? So....something here must be right or we definitely wouldn't put up with the carelessness of the employees on such a regular basis and keep going back! But this could so easily be fixed and then I would enjoy the experience better as a customer AND be able to give them a better rating based on the food rather than the constantly repeated mistakes. As for some other things they offer: - the breads are ok, usually too dry for my tastes and a bit pricey - the bagel chips are DELICIOUS but rarely available; get them if you see them though - the sandwiches are only average and are too pricey for what you get - the pizza bagel is delicious; probably my favorite and hard for them to mess up during preparation!

The staff was really rude, but when the owner came in it was a complete 180. All of a sudden they were greeting customers, and smiling. The tables were dirty and nobody was making an attempt to even clean them until, again, owner came in. The food was really great...but the service was discouraging.

I happened to be in San Antonio. I live in Austin: the foodie town without a decent bagel. I expected the worst, and I was pleasantly surprised. Bagels are very good and the price is right. My only complain is that there was no milk for the coffee. Ooops!

  • Marisa P.

For bagels this is as good as it gets. The bagels are soft and chewy, and unique flavors to choose from. The best thing about Bagel Factory is the self serve wall at the front. Instead of having to stand there and wait for someone, then quickly yell out which flavors, Bagel Factory has a set up where you grab a bag and fill it up yourself. This saves so much time and hassle. They also have a refrigerated case with packaged cream cheeses. Don't miss out on the chipolte one. Grab some of the asiago or swiss bagels to make a sandwich for lunch...so tasty. I have only been for breakfast, so cannot comment on lunch, but for grabbing bagels on the run this is a great choice.

We stumbled upon this lovely place while staying at the JW Marriott/TPC Hill Country resort. My husband ordered a stuffed bagel on pumpernickel which we loved and I had the cheesy grits. Before this experience, the cheesiest grits I've had was in Charleston, SC. This rivaled those grits. We will definitely be back before we leave!

We have loved the BF since they opened. We are from NY and loved finding a place with great bagels. The bagels are really good. We like both the egg sandwiches or a simple bagel with a flavored cream cheese. My favorite is a Cran/Orange bagel double toasted with chipotle cream cheese. The bagels chips are crispy and tasty. I love me a bag. Service is fast and servers are friendly. Food is good. We are having a love/hate relationship with the coffee though. Not loving it at the moment. :0/ I love BF regardless and will be back. I am the Duchess!!!

I'm extremely picky when it comes to bagels. The word "Bagel" is used all over the San Antonio region, but in the wrong way. A Bagel should ONLY be called a Bagel if it is prepared the correct way. Just baking and round piece of bread with a hole in the middle is NOT a Bagel in anyone's definition. Yes, a bagel is a bread product, but it's all in how it is cooked. A REAL Bagel MUST be first boiled for a short time in water and then baked. The result is a dense, chewy, doughy interior with a browned and a crisp exterior. I searched for a RFEAL bagel in the San Antonio area. Luckily I found the Bagel Factory. So where is the Bagel Factory? 15909 San Pedro Ave, Suite 115, San Antonio - located in a strip mall along the west side of Highway 281, between Bitters Road and Loop 1604 (Inside Galleria Oaks). The facility is clean an inviting. There are plenty of tables to sit and enjoy a bagel, a nice Breakfast, coffee or the many other menu items they have on hand. Want some Lunch? The Bagel Factory serves a wide variety of sandwiches. They also have several salads for your liking. Ask about the soup of the day! I like the fact that I can walk in, grab a bag and pick out the bagels I want, pay and go. They also can cater your next event. The employees are friendly and professional. The prices are very reasonable. The Bagel Factory is just a very nice place to stop and have Breakfast of Lunch, grab a bagel or just have a good time with friends. So far, the Bagel factory is the only place in San Antonio where I have found REAL Bagels. I know, some places claim to be making REAL Bagels, but I tried them and they are NOT REAL Bagels. If you want a REAL Bagel, this is it.

Excellent, excellent shop! I stumbled across this place and couldn't have been happier. I had the number 2 (The Supervisor-Egg, cheddar cheese w/ham on an E.T.bagel)w/coffee, just to keep it simple since it was my first time. O.M.G! I normally only eat half my food and save the other half for later but it was soooo good I couldn't help myself & ate the whole thing. The customer service was also very pleasant. I'm in town on business for a few more weeks and located about 20 mins away but I'll definitely have to go back. Kudos!

Coming from NYC, these are the best bagels my wife & I have found in San Antonio so far. We each had a bagel sandwich, which was decent overall, and was decently priced (about $5 for sausage, egg, & cheese bagel breakfast sandwich). The coffee as well was not great (considering Starbucks is my usual coffee of choice), but better than other bagel places we've been to, especially considering I got it free when I "checked in" here on yelp. The biggest negative is that they use a microwaved (or otherwise pre-prepared and warmed) egg in their breakfast sandwiches. But would I come back? Yes. Overall, I would rate it 3.5/5 (but only whole stars are possible, so I went down to 3). So why come back? Because, as I mentioned, it's the best bagel we've found SO FAR in San Antonio. If/when I do go back, I'll just be purchasing the bagels to take home to make my own breakfast sandwich. I'd recommend the same to anyone hoping for more quality in their breakfast sandwich.

These are by far THE BEST BAGELS IN TOWN! I was previously devoted to Einsteins but thanks to groupon I found this place and am now a convert completely and totally. Their bagels are fresh, chewy, the perfect consistency and I will never go anywhere else in San Antonio . I highly recommend the Asiago bagel with a veggie cream cheese. You cannot go wrong with that! Their lunch offered sandwich's are pretty amazing as well. I haven't had a bagel I do not like! Beware, their cheddar jalapeno don't just have the spice on the top but in the bagel as well. I honestly am not a fan of the bagelache(burned my mouth horribly when taking a bite), plain, nothing special. You can get your bagelache with sour kraut or other toppings, I got mine plain. Very friendly staff, excellent customer service. Even though I live on the opposite side of town I will be back!!!

Delicious and fresh New York style bagels right here in San Antonio. This is a friendly, family owned business. The lady who owns the Bagel Factory is a bit chatty, but, in a friendly, I want everyone to feel welcome kind of way. The décor is interesting and creative. You can tell the owners put some thought into the overall concept of their business. The corporate headquarters of the bagel factory is right next door and there's a window where you can watch the bagel making. Food wise, I agree with the other folks. The bagels are good and tasty. There's a nice selection of bagels, challah, artisan breads and sandwiches. I agree with some of the other folks who thought the prices for the sandwiches were a bit much. I really don't want to spend $9.49 on a bagel & lox sandwich. But, since I was there for the overall tasting experience, I ordered the "Electrician" which is their version of a Reuben sandwich. The sandwich, just the sandwich was $6.49. I thought the sandwich was okay, but nothing that I would want to repeat. I think the sandwich needed a little more pizazz, maybe a more flavorful mustard or a heartier cheese. Nevertheless, the bagels . . . ahh, the bagels were quite delicious and very affordable from 99 cents for a plain bagel to $2.09 for a bagel with cream cheese topping. I am going to go a little rogue and tell you all to go later in the day. I went just before closing time, which is 2 pm on Saturday and found out that the bagels go on sale for half price right before closing. They also have a frequent visitor card and after 10 visits you get your 11th bagel with a topping for free. So to all my carbohydrate loving homies, if you're not going to make your own bagels, I recommend you buy them fresh from the Bagel Factory.

This is quite a hike for me, so I'm not a regular. The asiago bagel was delicious and contrary to many other reviews, I found the dark roast coffee to be very good. The true test was wifey's plain bagel and I gotta be honest, I was a little disappointed as it was a bit tough on the inside. They smear a boatload of cream cheese on it which was good at first, but started overpowering halfway through. Recommend you get it on the side. I find Einstein and Panera to be just as good and sometimes better, but this would be my first stop if I happen to be in this part of town. I wasn't impressed enough to make it a regular destination.

By far, the best bagelry in San Antonio! Great selection of tasty; fresh bagels. Traditional types served with toppings like onion or poppy seed, along side some surprises like ones with asiago cheese or pumpernickel. I went for a more South Texas standard -- cheddar & jalapeño. Also, the decor has a lot more character than the other large-chain bagel shops in the city (like Einstein Bros. or Chicago Bagel) . The walls have a lot of NYC memorabilia which give the place some Empire State charm right here deep in heart of the Lone Star State. Side note: SIRI referred me here because it was the closest spot nearby at the time that sells bagels. Her reply to my command "find me a bagel" was actually very funny. She added, "Make sure to put lox on them so no one takes them." I'm glad she sent me there, I'll definitely be back. But I can do without the lox, though. :-)

Such a great small business restaurant!! Great fresh bagels with a good NYC feel. Would prefer this place over a chain bagel place any day!

Was as advertised. Nothing amazing about the food, but the staff was friendly and clearly attracted repeat business. Ditto on them being green with leftovers and it was cool to see them cutting hundreds of bagels from the dough in back.

It's OK. Get your holiday special after 1:30pm, half price bagels. But not as good as I expected

This is the real deal. One if the few things I miss from NE Ohio are the wonderful bagels. Well worth the hour drive for me to get my fix and a few dozen bagels for my freezer. They will be happy to split the bagels for you before they bag them.

Beside having some tasty bagels, they have THE BEST CHEESECAKE IN TOWN! and their tres leches cake is right up there with the rest! I had a slice of their cheesecake at the Taste of the Northside and I could not resist another slice to go! I'll be heading to Bagel Factory real soon for my bagel and cheesecake fix!!

After many many years searching San Antonio for a decent bagel I finally found it! No more begging family and friends back in NY to send me bagels in the mail. Bagels are chewy on the outside and soft inside (like they should be!). They don't boil them but they steam them which gets a similar result. The cream cheese is always fresh and flavorful. Matzaball soup? Check. Black and white cookies? Double Check. My only wish is for more flavors of light cream cheese.

We moved here just over a year ago and this was close enough to us that we frequented at least once a week. Having worked in a NY deli growing up I have a real appreciation for the time and energy it takes to make bagels. We were hooked from the first visit, and would come in one to three times per week. We were fortunate to have met and spoken to Suzanne on one of our week end visits as she mingled with the guests and talked about food. Then things started changing. This less than friendly red-head apparently was left in charge of the staff. She never spoke to us or any other customer when we were in the shop, but the speed and accuracy of orders, as well as the food quality didn't change, so we continued to visit regularly. Then the great employees we had fell in love with started dropping out one by one. Then the demonstrative red-head disappeared and we rarely see Suzanne in the shop anymore. The speed/accuracy of the orders is hit or miss. The last three times we have been in there is has been an issue with our order which we didn't discover until at home/work, when it is too late to correct. I never use to be forced to check my order prior to leaving but now you must! The current round of employees are lack-luster at best, rarely smiling, seemingly uncaring, and much slower than the people we fell in love with. I can only imagine that training new employees must be tough, but when the lack of stellar employees and accurate service makes you not want to go back, it is a shame.

This place has great bagels. Better than what you are thinking. The perfect mix of moist and chewy. They have flavors ranging from the basics; onion, plain, and everything - they also have some unexpected flavors; Asiago cheese, cheddar, cinnamon crunch. Multiple types of cream cheese for topping. Multiple types of breakfast sandwiches, Bagel-lachkes (hot dogs wrapped in bagels), and deli sandwiches - service Boar's Head meat. I tried a bacon, egg, and cheese everything bagel. Delicious. The only thing I had a problem with was their coffee. Weak. It seems like they care about it, but it was just a very weak flavor. On my way out I purchased an Asiago bagel and the Cinnamon Crunch bagel; I tried the Asiago on the way home and I was blown away by how flavorful it was. Would I recommend this place? Certainly! Would I recommend a new ratio of coffee to water? Yes. Still doesn't change the fact that it was the most surprisingly delicious breakfast I've had in quite some time.

Ok, good news first.... The bagels here are legit. I am on a constant quest to find things which alleviate my east coast homesickness, and the bagels at Bagel Factory do the job. The salt bagel with their veggie cream cheese is my personal favorite. I haven't tried any of the sandwiches yet, though I always mean to. Its just that the bagels with cream cheese are so, so, so good. These are honestly the best bagels in San Antonio (or all of Texas, from what I've seen!) Now, the reason for the three star rating. The coffee. Its absolutely horrible. I've had cups of sanko that taste better. I'm not a coffee snob either, I'm perfectly content drinking Folgers or even HEB brand when I'm strapped for cash. Bagel Factory's coffee is just that bad. It tastes like what I imagine dish water would taste like. It was especially disappointing since I got stuck in horrid 281 traffic after exiting the place, and all I had for a beverage was this muck. Its a testament to how bad it was, since I still did not drink it. And it was early, and I was cranky. I still could not choke the stuff down. Bagel Factory, you wonderful, wonderful bakers/boilers of bagels: step up your coffee game, and this review will be updated to a five star rating without hesitation!

As a transplanted New Yorker, the bagels are always fresh and tasty. Service is very good and quick. This is the best place for a bagel in Texas as far as I am concerned.

Love the bagels so much so that I bring in bagels to my staff and as soon as I do, they are gone! Great at accommodating large orders- everything was perfect. Staff are friendly, coffee is good, and after the Rock and Roll marathon, they were set up handing out bagels to the runners. Great addition to the SA community.

Very yum! I love a good bagel sandwich, and that's just what I got! The carpenter had turkey, cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, & cranberry spread on any bagel you want. It was great! Taste like thanksgiving left overs on a perfect chewy bagel. My husband got the welder, their signature club on a bagel. I had a bite and since they use boar's head the sandwich was tasty. Warm, toasted and tasty! Gonna go back and pick up bagels for work now since it's on the way. Joy! Oh yeah and the staff was super friendly as well so don't forget to tip them!

I love to swing into this place on my way to work and grab a dozen bagels for the office. They have a good selection of bagel flavors and delightful cream cheese spreads or you can go the breakfast sandwich route. They also serve lunch on a bagel. Sure, Panera offers some good bagels, but if you want to a support local business, grab your bagel from Bagel Factory.

My husband gave this place rave reviews, but I have never really been a bagel fan, so I was a little hesitant about eating here for lunch. I am happy to say that It was great! Since it was lunch, I chose a deli sandwich, #4 The Contractor, which has Boar's Head turkey and swiss. I ordered mine plain with mustard only on a honey wheat bagel. It was delicious! The bagel was the best bagel I have ever had. I realize that, until now, I had not had an authentic bagel. And the Boar's Head turkey and swiss was delicious, as usual. The owner came by and said hello. She was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. I really enjoyed this place and will come back again and again!

If you're a bagel junky, this is the place to get your fix. There is NOTHING like waking up at 630am and eating a bagel so warm and soft that you can barely cut it with a knife. Everything i've ever had is full of flavor and never too salty or bland. Go. Now.

Hands down the BEST BAGELS in San Antonio! While Panera and Einsteins are good, Bagel Factory has more authentic Bagels. Also, If you want an onion bagel, this is the ONLY place in the area to get one. Coffees and gourmet drinks are great as well.
